About this Film
My friend Raymond Antrobus wrote on this topic…“That’s dementia, an illness with a cleaver.” What Ray meant is that dementia, and Alzheimers are illnesses that methodically and cruelly strip away memory and information, until there is nothing left.
This film, much of which is recorded at Seaford Road, my Grandparents house, focuses on Philomena Foley, my Grandma and the experience of her fading away. Dementia has many tragic moments, but also there are times of surprising magic and beauty, which I have tried to capture in this work.
I hope that within this film, you will find something about the human spirit that is worthy of remembering.
